The Index Books 18-20 cover the years between 1901 and  1905. I am unsure about the date 1901, it should be 1899, one needs to double check that date.

When the Probate Court's Clerk received the information for marriages during these years, they did not record them as husband and wife in the indexes.  It was just one index for Husband's and another index for the Bride's.

This is the reason we have so many separate indexes of our Marriages from Lawrence County, Ohio.  It would have been nice just to combine all the indexes into one giant file, but  unfortunately  the workers did not obtain the records in an orderly fashion.

To Obtain copies of any of these records, please refer to our link "Researchers for Hire."
