ANOTHER BODY RECOVERED

Submitted by: Shirley Reed

IRONTON REGISTER, THURSDAY, OCT 3, 1907

The floater found at Burlington, on Friday afternoon, proved to be the body of S. R. Simmons of Harrisville, who was killed by the explosion of the gasoline launch Blanch M., near Gallipolis Monday night.
The body was discovered by Hugh Combs and Taylor Sherren, two young men who were boating sand to Kenova.
Coroner Remy, accompanied by Undertakers Jones and Davey, of Jones & Bingaman went to where the body was found Friday evening. The coroner held an inquest, and from papers found upon the body it was identified as that of Mr. Simmons.
His relatives at Harrisville were notified of the finding of the body and they came to Burlington on the evening train and claimed the remains. They were taken to Harrisville today for Interment. Where the body was found was 46 miles from where the explosion occurred.
