E. T. Belcher was born near
Willow-Wood P.O., Lawrence County, December 13th,
1867. He received his education in the public schools of Ironton and
afterward was engaged as traveling salesman with Wm. Kerr &
Co., and later, in 1894, became a member of the firm of
Bester, Snyder & Belcher. Mr. Belcher was elected
to the office of Clerk of Courts of Lawrence County and his
term of office begins August 9th, 1897. He is a very
prominent and popular young Republican, receiving in his election
the largest majority of any candidate on his ticket.
