Submitted by: Robert Kingrey

H.R. Brown, the Auditor of Lawrence County, is a native of Pennsylvania but has resided in the country for 29 years and previous to his election to this office was engaged in the iron business. In 1872 Mr. Brown was Sergeant of Arms of the 62nd General Assembly of Ohio. In the late war he enlisted with the Kentucky Volunteers as a private and mustered out as Captain of the 39th Kentucky Infantry. Mr. Brown is prominent in fraternal organizations, being a member of the G.A.R., I.O.O.F., K.P. and Elks. The duties of his office have been discharged faithfully and well, and he is amply qualified to fill the position with honor to himself and the country. He is a Republican in politics.
