SECRETARY ACCEPTED

COLUMBUS , O., Dec 24-Secretary of State Carmi A. Thompson, who home is at Ironton, O., today announced his acceptance of the post of assistant secretary of the Interior. The placed was offered him some time ago by President Taft. Many years ago he was a coal miner.
