Dr. W. S. Eakman is a native of
Waterloo, Gallia County, Ohio, where he was born in 1853. He
was educated in the common and select schools and later taught six
years, afterward attending the Miami Medical University at
Cincinnati, from which institution he graduated in 1881. After
six years of very successful practice at Pedro, Ohio, he
removed to his present address, 273 S. Third Street, this city, and
he has made a reputation for himself as a man of fine professional
attainments and broad-minded ideas in public matters. He is
President of the Lawrence County Medical Society and holds the same
position on the board of Examining Surgeons. He has been a member
and president of the Board of Education. In fraternal circles he is
a prominent worker being a member of the K. P., I. O. O. F. and
Masonic orders.
