How do I get a copy of the birth records that we have online?
Birth Records from between 1868-1938 (from Lawrence County Ohio Probate Court) are only available on microfilm. The books are not available at the courthouse, due to their fragile condition.
You can only view them on microfilm at the following locations: (please call before traveling for hours, costs, etc.)
If you need access to birth and death records for the years 1909-2000, you can view the indexes to those records here. Once you find the name and date in these indexes, then your next step is to obtain copies at the Ironton City Health Department, which maintains vital statistics records for Lawrence County, Ohio.
To request certified copies of birth and death certificates, please complete application and bring or mail to Ironton City Health Department. Cost is $25 for each copy requested.
