Easter Sunday, April 12th 1903:
I wish
to make a note here, that Mrs. Clara Nankivel, formerly Miss Clara
McKnight of Ironton, has this day presented on the Altar of Christ
Church, Ironton, Ohio, the sum of $25.00 to start a rectory fund for
Christ Church Rectory.

Christ
Church was consecrated on Tuesday, June 9th 1903 with
impressive services. Rev, Boyd Vincent being the consecrator
assisted by Rev. W. H. Hampton, Rector and the following clergy:
Rev’s W.H.R. Pendleton of Marietta, Ohio, Andrew J. R. Matthews of
the Columbus Deanery, Atwood of Columbus, J. W. Buford Jones,
Columbus, Agate Deacon, Worthington, Ohio, G. W. Fossen, Newark,
Ohio, J.D. Heron, Portsmouth, Ohio, Jno.
S. Gibson, Huntington, W.Va., Wm. M. Washington of Ashland, KY….
At evening service on same day a class of
thirteen were confirmed.
A new
pipe organ was erected and installed in Christ Church, Ironton,
Ohio, being finished on Monday, Feb. 29th 1904. The cost
of the same being $1400.00 and money on hand to pay for same when
organ was finished. St. Cecelia Guild composed of the young ladies
of the parish, the President being Mrs. W. M. Merchant, daughter of
the Rector and Vice President, being Miss Minnie Massie, having
furnished one half of the cost and Mr. Andrew Carnegie the other
half.
Easter Sunday, April 8th 1904
The
new pipe organ, new choir stalls, new chalet, and new paten for the
communion service were consecrated at 8 a.m. At 10:30 a.m. a veiled
choir of eighteen voices were used in the church for the first time
in the history of the parish. It was a great service and was greeted
by a large congregation.
July 6th 1904
Dr. Wm.
M. Merchant (son-in-law of Rev. W. H. Hampton) made a beautiful
communion chest, was this day presented to the church for the better
preservation of the communion vessels.
Nov.23rd 1907
MR.
Benjamin and Miss Emily Garvey presented to Christ Church, Ironton,
Ohio a beautiful Eagle Lectern as a memorial to their parents.
March 1909
Miss
Jennie Morris, Frankfort, Ky. Gave two pieces of Communion
linen for Alms
April 29th 1909
Purchased a safe for the church records and communion service.
April 30 placed service and church register in the safe at the
church.
