Death Claims Major Wm. H. Bonsall
Ironton Tribune, Aug. 3, 1905
Friends in this city have received word of the sudden death of
Major Wm. H. Bonsall, a former Ironton resident, but for many years a
prominent citizen of Los Angeles, Cal.
Major Bonsall spent his early life in Ironton, and was educated in the
public schools here. He was a member of the 117th Ohio Infantry during
the Civil War and at its close came out with the rank of Major. He
moved to Portsmouth and for some time was editor of the Portsmouth
Tribune. He moved to Los Angeles in 1886, where he has since resided.
He has two sisters residing in Portsmouth.
