G.W. Broadwell, one of the oldest residents of this city, died at 2:30 Sunday morning of dropsy and heart trouble.

He was 66 years and 2 months old at the time of his death and had been a resident of this city for about 25 years.

He is survived by a son and daughter, who reside at Knoxville, Tenn. He is also survived by a sister who resides at Lexington, KY and two brothers who reside in New Jersey.

Mr. Broadwell was a member of the Dick Lambert Post G.A.R. He was also a member of the Order of Seven Wise men, which will have charge of the funeral services.
