Well Known Resident Laid Down Life's Battle
Submitted by Kevin Pinson
Isaac Winters, a well known and highly respected resident of South
Point, laid down life's battle Sunday, and answered the call of his
Maker. His demise was due mainly to the infirmities of old age, the
deceased having reached the 84 th
milestone of life. He was prominently connected in his neighborhood,
and also in this city and all who ever made his acquaintance were his
friends. He also had the proud distinction of fighting for his country
during the Civil War, when he was connected with the Tenth Kentucky
cavalry.
A beloved wife and seven children survive his death. The children were
William, at home; George, of Cutler, Ill; Ira, of Ashland. The funeral
services will take place this afternoon from his late residence, with
Rev. T. F. Carey officiating. Interment in the family burying grounds.
