The roster of Company A , Fifth West Virginia infantry of the Civil War, formed of Ironton and nearby residents, property of the late Capt. James MACFADDEN who formed the company, has been loaned to the Tribune by Granddaughters of Capt.
MacFadden. Capt. MacFadden was 39 when he formed the unit in July 1861, the roster, re-photographed from original copies.
