Old
Cannon May Be Fired As Salute To
Veterans
The veterans of the Civil War expect to make their days a
grand success and there is every indication that all records
for attendance will be broken on these days as there will be
more than a thousand of veterans from all sections of the
country, present to attend
the grand
Reunion and Campfire.
It is the purpose of Col. Walker to secure the large cannon,
drag it to the river front on Tuesday morning and receive
the delegations with a salute from the big gun. This means
that about thirteen shots would be fired and would be an
interesting part of the program arranged by the Old Soldiers
for their days.
The latest city to announce that they will send a big
delegation to participate in the
Reunion is Wellston and they no doubt
will send a delegation that will equal in size any of the
visiting bodies. They will come in force and headed by a
drug corps.
The following letter was received from the Wellston Post
Commander, by Col. R. J. Walker Monday:

Wellston, O.,
Sept. 14, 1914.
