Henry Crowley and Malvina Jones 1832 Marriage
I am a descendant of this union that occurred in Lawrence County and would like to find out more about them and their ancestors and origins.
From their census record in Missouri in 1850, I find that they were born in Pennsylvania (Crowley) and Kentucky (Jones).
From the Marriage Records, I see that there are other Crowley & Croly men marrying around that period and I have noted that there are several Jones households in the 1830/1840 Lawrence County Census Records as well. The Crowley/Croly name is often spelled in the way the speller thinks it should be and I am not sure what it really was: however, the current version is Croly.
Henry and Melvina's first three children were born in Ohio and then two in Illinois before they moved to Missouri. By my calculation, they remained in Ohio until about 1839 and were in Illinois from then until sometime prior to the 1850 Census.
The children born in Ohio were Matilda(1833), Absalom(1834), and Caroline(1835).
If anyone can help me through this "brick wall," I would appreciate hearing from you.
