David Dailey Family of Ohio
David Dailey and his wife Vanity Matteson were in Athens County, not Lawrence Co. They were in Rome, Athens County in 1797 when settlers first came there. David Sr. died in Athens. He moved from Rome but remained in Athens County. The names of the towns changed over the years so his records show up in several areas. There is a great deal of information on him on the internet including historical sketches in Athens County. We are trying to find out where he was born. Some say Pownel, VT but all we really know is he joined the military there in 1776.

David Dailey and his wife Vanity Matteson raised their children in Lawrence County Ohio. David was born in Vermont and Vanity was born in Road Island David Married for the second time
in Gallia co to Nancy Armstrong.
