Died - Irwin - At his residence, on Symmes Creek, Lawrence county,
Ohio, May 23d, after a protracted and painfull illness, George Irwin,
aged 71 years and 7 months. The dec'd was born in Frederick county,
Va., Oct. 23d, 1799. When he was 5 years of age, his father moved to
Cabell county, Va., where he resided until his death. In 1818, the
family consisting of the mother, and eight children, George being the
eldest, aged 19 years, removed to Lawrence county, O., and settled
near the mouth of Sharp's creek. On July 5th, 1821, he was married to
Jemima Russell. In the Fall of 1823, he moved to Elkins' Creek, near
where Oak Ridge Furnace now stands; remained there on Congress land
about three years, he then removed to Symmes Creek, near the mouth of
Johns Creek, where he lived the greater portion of his time until his
death....man of great energy and perserverance, and in business
eminently successful....

Died - on the 6th inst., in Symmes Tp., Jemima Irwin, wife of
George Irwin, aged 63y3m4d.

Robert Irwin, son of Wash Irwin, one of the pioneer citizens of
Ironton, was killed by the cars in Minnesota, last Saturday night. His
sisters were Hattie and Maggie, who are now married and live in Texas.
The heirs of the Irwin estate were stockholders in the I.R.R. and
their stock recently transferred to E. F. Gillen, the administrator.
Robert's share amount to about $600.

Of Camargo, Douglas county, Illinois. He was born in Lawrence
County, Ohio on May 25?, 1824 being 76 years and 14 days old. He died
June 10, 1900. He married Letta W. Wiseman in 1845. They had 8
children, four preceded them in death. Those surviving were: W. T.,
Hattie I. who married Dr. Burnett, Louis K. and Ida M. who married C.
B. Hammett. He was a CIVIL WAR VETERAN.

Ironton, Mrs. Mary Irwin, consort of the late Washington Irwin, aged
about 30 years.

John Irwin, in the 33rd year of her age.

Died on yesterday (23rd) in this town, of consumption, Mr.
Washington Irwin, of the well known firm of Irwin & Kelly, in his 43d
year.

Mrs. Sarah Isaacs, 65, wife of John Isaacs, died at her home near
Cadmus, Gallia. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. David
Cheatwood. Surviving her are her husband and three sons, Virgil and
Clarence of Bowling Green, Ohio, Hollis of Gallia, two sisters, Mrs.
T. R. Neal of Springfield, O., and Mrs. Lexie Belcher of Rio Grande.
