Mrs. JAMES CARLIN DIES

Submitted by Anne Marie

DOD: April 28, 1918

Peace Eternal Comes to Mrs. James Carlan

A lingering illness was ended Monday night at about 9:15 o'clock when peace
everlasting came to Mrs. James Carlan, at her home on Hecla Street between
Sixth and Seventh. The decedent was one of Ironton's best known residents and
a pioneer of this county, having resided in the old furnace districts in the
western end of Lawrence County for many years or until the family came to
Ironton a number of years ago. She was a devoted mother and reared a large
family, which was ever her care and in them her chiefest interest centered.

She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Nora Roy, of Gary, Ind., Mrs.
Thomas McMahon of Covington, KY., Misses Genevieve, Margaret and Nellie at
home and Messrs. Dennis of Indiana Harbor, Ind., and Thomas, of Ironton. The
funeral services will be held Thursday morning at St. Lawrence church with
interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery
