Mrs. JAMES CARLIN DIES

Peace Eternal Comes to Mrs.
James Carlan
A lingering illness was ended Monday night at about 9:15
o'clock when peace
everlasting came to Mrs. James Carlan, at her home on Hecla
Street between
Sixth and Seventh. The decedent was one of Ironton's best
known residents and
a pioneer of this county, having resided in the old furnace
districts in the
western end of Lawrence County for many years or until the
family came to
Ironton a number of years ago. She was a devoted mother and
reared a large
family, which was ever her care and in them her chiefest
interest centered.
She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Nora Roy,
of Gary, Ind., Mrs.
Thomas McMahon of Covington, KY., Misses Genevieve, Margaret
and Nellie at
home and Messrs. Dennis of Indiana Harbor, Ind., and Thomas,
of Ironton. The
funeral services will be held Thursday morning at St. Lawrence
church with
interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery
