HENRY DOERR DIES SUDDENLY AT THE HOME OF HIS DAUGHTER

IRONTON SUNDAY TRIBUNE SUNDAY DEC. 1, 1940

Henry C. Doerr, one of the best know and most popular residents of the South Side, died rather suddenly Saturday at 1:30 P.M. in the home of his daughter Mrs. Ed Rambacher of 1807 south Eighth, where he resided. Announcement of his passing came as a distinct shock to his many friends.

Mr. Doerr had been in failing health during the last year but was about as usual Saturday morning. He visited at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Hubbell Keys, returned to the Rambacher home, became critically ill, and died suddenly. He was born Jan. 18, 1860 and had spent practically his entire life here, being engaged as a mill worker and a paperhanger in other years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Fred Doerr of Ironton. His wife, Phoebe Stapleton, whom he married at
Greenbrier, W.Va., 61 years ago, died in 1916. Surviving him are five daughters.

Mrs. Charles Beam and Mrs. Charles Ruggles of Ashland, Mrs Harry Weise of Chicago, Mrs. Hubbell Keys and Mrs. Ed Rambacher of Ironton. Sixteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends are bereaved. One son, Carl, was killed in Texas train wreck nine years ago. Mr. Doerr was a member of International Bible Students. Friends may call at the residence, 1807 south Eighth street, after 4 P.M. today.

Funeral arrangements are in charge of Bingaman and Jones.

OBITUARY I.R.

Funeral services for Henry C. Doerr of south Eighth street, who died suddenly Saturday, will be conducted in the Bingaman and Jones funeral home Tuesday at two o'clock, with burial in Woodland cemetery. Friends may call at the residence until 10 A.M. Tuesday, and at the funeral home after that hour.

Among the sixteen surviving grandchildren are Derra, Charles, Arnold and Henry Keyes, Carl, Clyde and Helen Rambacher of Ironton, Mrs Aurthur Noonan, Mrs. Clarence Caudill, Mrs. Gene Marvin, Misses Cleta Beam, Vera Ruggles of Ashland, Mrs. Charles Urban of Montgomery, Ala., Raymond Murry of Chicago, Mrs. Thelma Stacey of Toledo and Mrs. Max Thompson of Galveston Texas.
