Dave Frazier Died Monday

David Frazier 45, of Hanging Rock, one of the best known younger
residents of this section, passed away at his home there Monday
evening at 8:30 o'clock, following an illness of several months
duration,. Mr. Frazier's health was threatened last December, and he
became weakened gradually until his spirit was called by The Master.
He was born at Hanging Rock, November 4, 1884, a son of David and
Margaret Frazier, and received his education in the Hanging Rock
schools, graduating there, and then attending the Davidson Business
College of this city.
He was employed for several years as bookkeeper at the Lawrence
Furnace, later with the Portsmouth Steel Company, the Miller and
Miller law office of Ironton, and for 15 years he was bookkeeper with
the A. R. Johnson law firm, and at the time of his illness was
occupying a similar position with the Newton Johnson Insurance Agency.
Mr. Frazier was possessed of a self-sacrificing, modest, and kindly
disposition, and one of his favorite hobbies was that of raising and
caring for a beautiful garden at his home, containing many specimens
of rare flowers.
He is survived by his mother and the following brothers and sisters:
Thomas Frazier, Portsmouth; Stanley Frazier, Hanging Rock; Newton
Frazier, Cincinnati; Charles Frazier, Ironton; Mrs. Dan Fray, Guthrie,
Okla; Mrs. Alice Surbaugh, Huntington; Mrs. Dr. Forest Stewart,
Ironton, and Miss Margaret Frazier of Cleveland. His father died seven
years ago.
Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday morning at 10:30
o'clock, and will be private. Friends will be welcome at the home
until the hour of the funeral. Rev. W. H. Hampton, rector-emeritus of
the Christ Episcopal church will conduct the services, and interment
will be in Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Undertaker
Phillips of Waterloo.
