Obituary of Mrs. Nancy Gillette

Mrs. Nancy Suiter Gillette was born
at Bradrick, January, 1844. She was married to Clinton Gillette in
December, 1873. After a long and useful life was called to her
reward May 17, 1912. Mrs. Gillette had been a member of the
Methodist church since 1852 and lived a Christian life. She had
been in failing health for several months. She went to Huntington
to visit her granddaughter, Mrs. William Toney, and while there
was stricken and was unable to be moved home.
Her husband preceded her several
years ago and a brother, S.S. Suiter, preceded her two months ago
to her last rest. She leaves three brothers, Jacob Suiter, of
Proctorville; Alex Suiter, of Guyandotte; James, of Hadley,
Michigan. Two sisters, Mrs. G.W. Bay, of Huntington; Mrs. William
Hammock, of Tamora, Nebraska, and granddaughter, Mrs. William
Toney, of Huntington, to mourn their loss.
Her remains were brought to
Proctorville Saturday. The funeral conducted Sunday afternoon by
Rev. P.Y. DeBolt of Guyandotte. Interment at Rome Cemetery.
