Obituary - Gillette
Taken from the Ironton Tribune 06 Jan. 1936
Mrs. Mary E. Gillette, eighty years old, who died yesterday
afternoon at the home of her son Dr. Arthur E. Gillette, in
Cincinnati, was buried today in Rome, Ohio Cemetery following
funeral services at 3:30 o'clock at the Proctorville Methodist
Episcopal Church with Rev. R. W. Cochran officiating. Surviving
besides the son are one daughter, Mrs. Edwin (Linnie) Saunders of
Columbus, Ohio; a brother, John Marks; and one sister Mrs. John
(Fannie) Sayre of Huntington; eleven grandchildren and three great
grandchildren.
Note: Mary Elizabeth Marks was the daughter of Jesse and
Cynthia Neff Marks. Also note, I believe the obituary is incorrect
in naming the surviving brother. It should read Jacob Marks, not
John.
