These Lawrence County, Ohio names were abstracted from the
Ohio Penitentiary's Register of Prisoners at Ohio Historical
Society in Columbus, Ohio. Some of the entries were nearly
impossible to read and there will be some human errors.
As with any source, please check the original record for
accuracy. You can order these microfilms from your local
Family History Library. I have additional information on these
prisoners which is not included in this index, and will be
publishing a book in the future. Almost all prisoners have
additional information which include: When received, When and
how discharged, Age, Nativity, Occupation, Height, Color of
Eyes, Complexion, General Appearance, Scars, Marks, Education,
Property Owned, Whether Temperate, and Relatives, and where
they live.
