I am retired and have been doing my family's genealogy for thirteen years. I thoroughly enjoy helping other fellow genealogists find their families.
I have been doing research for hire for eleven years with no negative feedback. Some of the money I receive for researching is donated back into the local library's genealogy department and the Lawrence Register. [NOTE: She has helped me with the website, too - Martha]
I do research mainly in Lawrence Co., OH but occasionally will travel to Scioto Co., OH if needed.
I have volunteered for The Lawrence Register typing the death indexes, indexing the 1930 Lawrence Co., OH census, and my latest job indexing the brides from marriage books 4 and 5.
My charges are very reasonable, and I only charge $7.00 for one lookup. For other research, the charge is a $25.00 minimum (or $30.00 minimum for Scioto Co. research) which includes two hours' research and up to five copies of birth or death records (1868 to 1938), marriage records, obits, census pages, cemetery records, etc. (Wills may cost a little more, as they are usually several pages). Postage is included. I can now accept payments through PAYPAL for an extra $1.00.
