Will of Charles Brammer, Deceased

The following instrument of writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Charles Brammer, late of Union Township, in this County, deceased, was produced in open court and filed February 8, 1918.

IN THE NAME OF THE BENEVOLENT FATHER OF ALL, AMEN:

I, Charles Brammer of the township of Union, County of Lawrence, and State of Ohio, being of lawful age, and being of sound and disposing mend and memory, do make, publish, and declare this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former Wills made by me.

First: My Will is that all my just debts and funeral expenses shall be paid out of my estate as soon after my decease as shall be found convenient.

Second: I give, devise, and bequeath to my wife Mary Brammer $500.00 (five hundred dollars) in cash and also one (1) bed and the necessary clothing for same, and any other household goods that have been purchased by her, or may hereafter be purchased by her individual money. I also request that one (1) bureau be included in the above mentioned articles.

Third: The balance of my household goods and furniture I do hereby give and bequeath to my only daughter Mrs. Alice A. Harless.

Fourth: I request and direct the executor of this Will to sell all my real estate and chattel goods in any way he may deem advisable, and to the best advantage, and that the proceeds thereof be divided and shared equally among my heirs, and that the amount of three hundred dollars ($300), which has been previously paid to Mary E. Thacker, be charged against and deducted from the amount found due the heirs of the said Mary E. Thacker.

Fifth: I also request that my wife shall not be required to give possession of the home we now occupy, until she shall have ample time to secure another.

Sixth: I also request and direct the court to appoint Ollie E. Brammer executor of this will and direct the said Executor to reserve and set aside fifty (50) dollars for building a fence around the Brammer graveyard on the land now belonging to Martha Templeton. Providing nevertheless that if the above mentioned fence shall have been built by myself, then the above referred to amount shall be divided with the balance of my estate.

Seventh: I also request that the Executor shall collect all money , notes, mortgages, etc. Belonging to me, and to dispose of the same as the balance of my estate.

Codicil: Since the death of the within referred to Ollie E. Brammer, I hereby request that the court appoint Harvey K. Brammer in his stead. In Testimony whereof, I have hereunder set my hand at Getaway, Ohio this 28th day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Nine (1909).                            Charles Brammer

The foregoing instrument was signed by the said Charles Brammer in our presence and by him published and declared as and for his last Will and Testament; and we have hereunder subscribed our names as attesting witnesses, at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, this 28th day of May A. D. 1909.

Your petitioner respectfully represents that Charles Brammer, late a resident of the township of Union, in said County died on or about the 14th day of January A. D. 1918, leaving an instrument in writing, herewith produced, purporting to be his last Will and Testament: That the said Charles Brammer died leaving Mary Brammer his widow who resides at Chesapeake, Ohio, and the following named persons his next of kin, to wit:
