Will of Thomas Dalton
Lawrence County Probate Court ‹ Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1886 Pleas in
the Probate Court within and for the County of Lawrence and State
of Ohio before Geo. W. Thompson, judge of said court, at a session
thereof held on the 30th day of November A.D. 1886
Be it remembered that heretofore towit:
On the 30th day of November A.D. 1886, there was an instrument of
writing produced in open court for probate purporting to be the
last will and testament of Thomas Dalton, deceased, which will
reads in the words with figures as follows towit:
In the name of the benevolent father, I Thomas Dalton of Windsor
Township, Lawrence County, and State of Ohio:
Item first: I give and devise to my beloved wife, Percilia Dalton,
one hundred dollars; and I give and devise to my son, Washington
(?) one hundred dollars; and I also give and devise to Rutha
Harmon one hundred dollars.
And after the said three hundred dollars is paid and all of my
just debts is paid that I owe when deceased is paid, the balance
with the property belonging to me at the time of my decease, both
personal and real estate, shall be equally divided among all my
heirs. In testimony hereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this 20th Day of April A.D. 1886.

and testament in our presence and signed by us.

Personally appeared in open court W. H. Null and T. A. Null, the
subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Thomas
Dalton, late of Windsor Township, in said Lawrence County,
deceased, who being duly sworn according to law to speak the
truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, in relation to
the execution of said will, depose and say: That the paper before
them bearing date ‹ the 30th day of April 1886, purporting to be
the last will and testament of Thomas Dalton, now deceased, is the
will of said deceased; that they were present at the execution of
said will and at the request of the testator respectively
subscribed their names to the same as witnesses in his presence;
that they saw the said Thomas Dalton, deceased, sign and seal said
will and heard him acknowledge the same to be his last will and
testament; and that the said Thomas Dalton at the time of making,
signing and sealing said will was of full age, of sound mind, and
memory and not under any restraint whatsoever.
