That I, George Steed of Forestdale, O, at my home and in my
right mind and reason herewith make my last Will and
Testament of all my real estate and personal property.
I herewith bequeath and give to Emily C. Steed, my wife to
hold to her use and for her happiness as long as she lives
or as long as she remains my widow the following described
real estate and personal property. To wit situate in the
Township of Perry County of Lawrence and State of Ohio,
being the one undivided half of the southwest quarter of the
southwest section of Section six in township two in range
seventeen containing forty four acres more or less.
This above described real estate was deeded to George Steed
by A.H. Steed and wife on the 17th of June 1874. And
also the following real estate situate in Perry Township
Lawrence County and State of Ohio. Being the life
interest of Mary J. Bennett as widow of Henry Steed deeded
to her by the heirs of said Henry Steed, to wit, part of the
southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of section six,
township two, range seventeen containing four acres more or
less.
The said Emily C. Steed is to have
the above described real estate to her use until she ceases
to be widow or deceases this life. Then my estate as
here described is to be divided equally with my children
M.G. Steed, C.B. Steed, L.E. Steed, C.H. Steed, M.M. Steed,
L.J. Steed and also I give and bequeath to Emily C. Steed my
wife all my personal property consisting now one horse, one
cow, two pigs, one buggy, one two horse wagon, one one
horse wagon, one express and all the farming utensils and
household goods, etc.
I herewith appoint as the executor of
this my Will and Testament my wife Emily C. Steed and also
the Probate Court not to require any bond.
I herewith signed my name to this my
last Will and Testament in these presence.
This the 17th day of June 1899.

Codicil~
This the first Codicil in my last
Will and Testament, I herewith give to Emily C. Steed my
wife the full right as Executor of this my last will to sell
and convey to M.M. Bryant and her husband Clarence Bryant,
one house and lot situated on the track of land purchased
from Mary J. Bennett and the Henry Steed heirs. Being
about one fourth of an acre bounded on the western side
branch on the section line side by line between the land
above described and C.A. Steeds land. And if the said
named M.M. Bryant and her husband Clarence Bryant fails to
purchase and pay for said house and lot then I herewith give
to Emily C. Steed my wife the right and power to sell and
convey the above mentioned house and lot to any of my heirs
named in the above will.

Your petitioner respectfully
represents that George Steed late a resident of the township
of Perry in said County, died on or about the __ day of Dec.
A.D. 1899, leaving an instrument in writing, herewith for
deceased, purporting to be his last Will and Testament:
That the said George Steed died leaving Emily Steed his
widow who resides at Forest Dale and the following named
persons his only next of kin, to wit:
